Psych rock & roll in Jozi: The Tazers is a rock band focused on offering difference in an age of mediocrity
Fearless and effortlessly innovative are some of the words you can use to describe Joburg-based band, The Tazers. The three-piece band has firmly fixed itself into the rock scene in South Africa, and with release of their debut project, Time Machine, in 2016 – the band has positioned itself as a source of difference, good music and innovation. The band then followed their debut up with arguably their best project to date, Love Machine, a body of work that differentiated them from the rest and helped catapult them into local rock stardom.
Their approach is inspired by retro rock influences and that doesn’t mean that they are limited to one style. They find comfort in their inspirations and influences, and with that being said they also push themselves beyond conventions set in the rock genre. The song-writing is powerful and emotive, allowing them to connect deeply with the listener. Their ability to connect with their fans is evident as ‘Wake Up’, a song off their Love Machine project, boasts over three hundred thousand streams on Spotify. The music is clearly reaching the people.
The Tazers are gearing up to release something new for their fans.
The Tazers seem to have been busy working on new music and we have no doubt that they will impress.
